CBD FAQs: Learn more About CBD Products

Learn more about CBD and our FAQs

Will your products get me high?

No. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and will not provide the high typically associated with THC, the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana.

Legally, hemp products can contain up to 0.3% THC. Nature’s Rhythm verifies this through third-party test results for our products.

Typical recreational Marijuana that is high in THC has between 10%-20% THC and up to 30% in some strains.

Could I fail a drug test if I take CBD Hemp Extract?

While it is unlikely with moderate use of CBD from Hemp, it is still possible that you may fail a drug test, even if you experience no psychoactive effects. Drug tests are designed to identify cannabinoids.

The best thing to do is consult your regular physician about options for documenting your use of CBD Products.

Are hemp-derived cannabinoids such as CBD as good as CBD from marijuana?

The consensus in the cannabinoid community is that CBD is CBD, whether from marijuana or hemp. Most marijuana has a very low non-psychoactive cannabinoid profile (like CBD), and is usually very high in THC (meaning that it has psychoactive properties).

Hemp also contains just as many supportive compounds – like terpenes and flavonoids – that aid in the absorption of CBD, as marijuana. This means that whole floral CBD is more effective in lower quantities than CBD that is produced as an isolated compound. It’s not dissimilar to choosing to take a Vitamin C supplement, or, eating vegetables high in Vitamin C, that contain other nutrients and minerals that help your body absorb the vitamins.

These compounds and cannabinoids work in concert to create what is known as the Entourage Effect.

How safe are your hemp extracts? Are there negative side effects?

Hemp is considered to be generally safe. Any side effects we have seen or heard about from our products are typically not considered negative. However, we can’t rule the possibility out. Our customers report feeling calmer and sleeping better as an unexpected side effect when using our extracts.

Why do people use Hemp Extracts and CBD? What are the benefits and uses of CBD?

In accordance with federal regulations, we cannot make health claims regarding our dietary supplement products. We can only recommend our products for general wellness.

Is a hemp seed oil the same as a high-CBD hemp extract?

No. Hemp seed oil is relatively inexpensive and is a much different product than a full spectrum hemp extract, which is not from seeds.

Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is produced by cold pressing the seeds, whereas our CBD hemp extract is a whole floral extraction with many components not typically found in the seeds.

Hemp seed oil is considered to be a great source of nutrients like omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, but it doesn’t have the naturally occurring terpenes, cannabinoids, and other components that our extracts have.

Where do you source your hemp and CBD from?

When shopping for CBD, this is the first question you should be asking. Our hemp is 100% grown in Central Kentucky by our family and a network of a few neighboring family farms. We are able to monitor the entire process from start to finish.

What type of extraction method do you use?

We use food-grade alcohol to extract the CBD. It is a clean and cold extraction method that allows for optimal retention of terpenes and other beneficial compounds. By the end of the process, the alcohol is separated from the final product and reclaimed through evaporation.

What kind of testing/analysis is performed on your products?

Every batch of our extracted CBD is submitted for third-party testing, where a lab evaluates the sample for the cannabinoid profile, and tests for the presence of any pesticides, fungus, or microbial contaminants.

We will happily provide a copy of these test results upon request.

How much CBD oil should I take?

This really depends on which product you are using, and the individual, as everybody responds to supplements in slightly different ways. We recommend starting low and work your way up, using the suggested serving of each product (available on our CBD Products page) once a day and see if you notice a positive change.

We have a variety of product types such as CBD Honey and other edibles, extracts, and topicals

If you don’t notice a change in about a week, you can increase the amount and the frequency. As with any supplement, you should discuss with your healthcare practitioner if you have specific questions.
